Another Hole in the Head I SF Indie Fest

Still not ready for Halloween to be over? This Friday marks the kickoff of SF Indie Fest’s annual film festival, Another Hole in the Head. The ten-day event features the best horror, sci-fi, and dark fantasy films by both emerging and established filmmakers. Taking place at the renowned New People Cinema, this event allows attendees the chance to watch and appreciate films not usually shown in theaters . Be warned – this festival is not for the faint of heart!

Fridays are free ‘Oysters on the Half Shell’ Day at El Rio

Kick off your weekend with some free oysters and cheap drinks at everyone’s favorite neighborhood dive bar. Every Friday from 5-8PM, El Rio offers oysters on the half shell free of charge and well drinks and pints for a meager $3. Make sure to get there on the early side; the oysters go quick!

Saturday Stroll Art Walk

Every Saturday of the month, Oakland’s Saturday Stroll Art Walk gives individuals the chance to stroll through various galleries and appreciate art work in a low-profile setting. The guided walking tour brings visitors from three to five galleries, with short presentations from curators or artists at each location. The Saturday Stroll has quickly become one of Oakland’s most popular art events and allows attendees to appreciate art in a quiet, intimate environment.

Sunday 11/8

‘Heart of the City’ Sunday Farmers Market | UN Plaza

The ‘Heart of the City’ Sunday Farmer’s Market is an independent, non-profit market located year round at San Francisco’s United Nations Plaza. The market offers a wide selection of fresh local produce from over 30 local farmers and artisan food vendors. There’s also a bevy of delicious baked goods, pastas, and hummus to try!

Sunday Yoga in Golden Gate Park

Channel your inner zen this weekend with some morning yoga in Golden Gate Park! Every sunday the Purusha Yoga community invites individuals to rejuvenate and relax with a free yoga class held at Spreckles Lake in Golden Gate Park. Bring a friend, a mat and get ready stretch! Also, make sure to sign up online- the class fills up fast!
