The Shakespeare Society of America

The Shakespeare Society of America has a proud history of preserving Shakespearean history and educating the public as a designated nonprofit since 1969. It currently houses a large collection of rare book and memorabilia that is on display for public viewing.

Garden of Shakespeare Flowers in Golden Gate Park

The Garden of Shakespeare Flowers, located near the San Francisco Botanical Garden and the Japanese Tea Garden, is home to more than 200 flowers that have been mentioned in Shakespeare’s works. This romantic destination, home to poppies, violets, and roses, can be rented out as a wedding venue and is also open daily to the public.

Northern California Renaissance Faire

If costumes are more your thing, be sure to check out the Northern California Renaissance Faire which is held in Hollister each year from September to October. With concerts, shows, games, and crafts, this event is fun for renaissance fans of all ages. It also offers a variety of Elizabethan-style food, such as haggis, smoked turkey legs or roasted quail.

San Jose Renaissance Faire
