California State Capitol Museum
The California State Capitol Museum introduces visitors to the past, present, and future of California all under one roof. Visitors not only have the opportunity to learn about California’s history, but they can also witness how history is made through the modern lawmaking process. The building which houses the museum also serves as the state’s working seat of government. Tours of the building are available, and for those who can’t make it to Sacramento, they also offer virtual tours. The museum is home to many exhibits, artifacts, artwork, and antique furnishings.

Raging Waters Sacramento
Raging Waters is the largest family water park in Sacramento, featuring more than 25 unique water attractions including crystal clear pools, exhilarating slides, and other fun-filled activities. Discovery Museum – Science & Space Center
The Discovery Museum has been in business for over 60 years. Founded in 1951 as the California Junior Museum, it was designed as a space for children to come and experience science through interactive exhibits and programs including the Robotics Lab, Nature Discovery Room, Planetarium, and Archaeology Dig. Today the museum is one of California’s most outstanding institutions, emphasizing science, technology, engineering, math education and hands-on learning. The museum’s most popular exhibit about science and the solar system is back with updated hands-on features.

Fright Planet is California’s only haunted theme park. Each year they bring new scares to their visitors via multiple haunted house attractions, each of which is about 5,000 square feet. There are 150 cast members each season who are dedicated to scaring guests. They must audition for their roles and attend “Scare School” before setting foot into the haunted house. Be prepared to be scared with attractions such as Cannibal Cabin, Distorted Maze, and Buried Alive: The Ride. To experience all their scary attractions purchase an unlimited ticket and see it all, all night long.

The Sacramento Zoo has been open since 1927 and it is one of over 200 accredited institutions of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. It holds over 140 native and endangered species. Over the past several decades the role of the zoo has changed. Zoos used to focus on showcasing as many animals as possible, but now the aim is to create a recreational experience that focuses on providing an educational premise for the zoo’s existence. The Sacramento Zoo appreciates, respects, and connects with wildlife and nature through education, conservation, and recreation.
