Culture Trip

Named after Arroyo San Jose de Cupertino, Cupertino was initially a small rural village known for its agricultural based activities. After World War II, the area surrounding Cupertino slowly started transforming into what we now know as the Silicon Valley. Today, its diversity and accepting culture make it an extremely desirable area. With the newly constructed Main Street Cupertino, many delicious restaurants have made their way into the city.

Lazy Dog

Lazy Dog has been popular with locals since its opening in late 2015. Known for its eclectic menu and generous portions, customers always leave the restaurant with a positive disposition. The restaurant itself is large and has beautiful, tall ceilings. The atmosphere is casual and the service is top notch. Parking can be hard to find during rush hour, but Vallco Shopping Mall’s parking lot is a short walk from Main Street. The restaurant is open from 10 AM to 12 AM.

Cicero’s Pizza

BJ’s

Situated right next to Apple Inc’s headquarters, BJ’s is a restaurant and brew house that serves customers popular dishes with a twist. The menu offers everything from pizzas to salads to steaks. In addition, BJ’s serves their own crafted beer. Kids get their own special menu for a great price! Many customers also enjoy the extensive dessert menu; the pizookie is a must try.

Alexander’s Steakhouse

One of five international locations, Alexander’s Steakhouse Cupertino offers customers an exquisite dining experience. The service is known to be extremely professional. Servers make an effort to be as attentive as possible and each dish is carefully served and explained. Reservations are highly recommended.

Gochi Fusion Tapas

A hidden gem in Cupertino, Gochi Fusion Tapas, from the outside, seems like an average Asian restaurant. But do not be fooled; it so much more than that. Everyone who dines here goes back home not only with a full stomach, but an admiration for the place. The food is excellent and the menu is extensive. There is something here for everyone. Customers are required to remove their shoes, so remember to arrive wearing a clean pair of socks! Tatami-style tables are available for parties of four or more. Reservations are highly recommended.

Islands

Unusually good for a chain, Islands is a classic American restaurant that was initially opened in the 1980s in SoCal. The menu has evolved considerably since its opening and Islands now serves salads, soups, and tacos. The burgers are known to be filling. Islands is open from Sunday to Thursday from 11 AM to 9.30 PM; 11 AM to 10.30 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Aqui Cal-Mex

Aqui Cal-Mex is a carnival of flavors. Each dish is prepared with natural and fresh ingredients. Customers can also enjoy Sunday Brunch from 11 AM to 2 PM. The atmosphere at Aqui is quite lively and the service is impeccable. It is not surprising to see bustling crowds eating at the restaurant. Parking is available in the lot adjacent.

Kula Revolving Sushi Bar

Kula Revolving Sushi Bar can be found on Cupertino’s Main Street. Although it is on the back (and therefore less visible) side, Kula has definitely made a place for itself. All dishes are made with organic ingredients. Kula is open Sunday to Thursday from 11.30 AM to 10.00 PM and Friday to Saturday from 11.30 AM to 10.30 PM.
