The Keystone: A New Restaurant In San Francisco

A new San Francisco restaurant opening soon at the Mosser Hotel, The Keystone is taking over Annabelle’s space on 4th Street. Opening August 18th, it will be the new go-to for both after work and late night bites and cocktails.

In ‘The City by the Bay,’ with its abundance of fresh seafood, why not start off with a sleek, sexy, oyster migonette? Other seafood specialties The Keystone will offer include salt cod and shrimp stuffed pork. They will also be serving mussel chowder with an extra special twist because, let’s face it, basic chowders only belong at Fisherman’s Wharf, where no self-respecting local will visit unless they’re yachting.

The Keystone’s full menu, by Executive Chef Zack Freitas, will also feature slightly more substantial fare, including wood-fired flatbreads with innovative flavor combinations, plus a whole menu sub-section devoted to the ‘Ambitious’ eaters who come with an appetite for rib-eyes, pork chops, and rainbow trout.

Sometimes it can be difficult to leave room for dessert when the savory treats are just as decadent, but here, you’re going to want to stay for something sweet. Try their rose almond cake, stone fruit crostata, and coconut parfait. If you’re wondering if they are worth the calories, then that answer is a resounding yes — especially their brownies, which are sure to please any chocolate fiend.

One happy hour is simply not enough for The Keystone’s list of libations. They will have one from 4:30 PM-6:30 PM and then another from 10 PM-12 AM where small bar bites will also be available, so you won’t grow hungry as you imbibe. The high quality of their liquors, featuring spirit labels such as Four Roses Bourbon, also show their sheer commitment to excellence, plus they have infused spirits to elevate their cocktails. Dark liquor gets a fruity infusion in their ‘Strawberry Blonde’ cocktail, which features strawberry-infused bourbon and peach. If that’s not your style, try a ‘Porcini Negroni.’ Yes, you read that right; they have put their own spin on this cocktail classic by infusing it with porcini mushrooms. The full bar menu will also feature an extensive list of both foreign and domestic beer and wine, plus non-alcoholic favorites, like cold-brewed coffee, yerba mate tea, and Mexican coke.

The Keystone is giving the Mosser Hotel building new life, and will contribute volumes to the San Francisco food scene. Be sure to plan a visit when they open on Monday, August 24th!
