ICE at Santa Monica

If you’re in west LA, grab your friends or family and head over to ICE at Santa Monica. This is a seasonal rink that opens up every holiday season in Downtown Santa Monica at the corner of Fifth Street and Arizona Avenue, and this year is open from November 3rd to January 16th. This rink is available for public skating, charging $15 for admission with skate rental. The rink is also has a cabana for parties, and skating lessons are available to schedule, too.

Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square

Alternatively, visit another seasonal ice rink at the Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square. This rink will be open from November 10th to January 16th in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. This is an outdoor rink, so you can enjoy skating in the open air surrounded by art and cultural institutions in the middle of the LA skyline. The rink is open to all ages and levels of skating ability, and there are even some special events to take place throughout the season.

LA Kings Holiday Ice

If you’re a hockey fan, be sure to check out LA Kings Holiday Ice. This ice rink is open throughout the holiday season for $17 admission, with rental skates included. The sessions are three hours long and are great for beginners, with plenty of wall space to hold on to if you’re nervous, and staff members to assist if you’re really struggling. There are occasional 30 minute breaks to help maintain the ice, during which you can relax on the surrounding benches.

The Skating Edge Ice Arena

For a year-round skating experience, check out The Skating Edge Ice Arena. This arena offers public sessions, freestyle, ice dance, stroking, hockey, parties, broomball, learn to skate and even off ice training. A variety of teams and clubs practice here, including the South Bay Figure Skating Club, the Bay Harbor Red Wings, the Ice Angeles Adult Ice Hockey League and LMU Lions Ice Hockey. There is a pro shop onsite, offering skate sharpening and all of your other equipment needs.

Pasadena Ice Skating Center

The Pasadena Ice Skating Center has a new location at the Pasadena Convention Center, featuring a new regulation-sized rink, four locker rooms and more. The rink offers public skating, private lessons, hockey and private events. The rink is open to the public daily, offering public sessions for skaters of all ages and skill levels. There are also 10-week learn-to-skate classes available, with a new session taking place from November 28th to February 19th.
