Chromatic Coffee

Coffee experts have rated Chromatic Coffee as the best coffee shop in the Bay Area, so it is a must-visit if you are looking to find the best cup of coffee. The shop is unassuming and welcoming, displaying their wholesale roasts and impressing with artistry in your cup from the baristas and artwork on the walls from local artists.

Devout

Devout Coffee is an experience that truly feels handcrafted in the best possible way. It began with two brothers in a garage, marveling at and experimenting with the flavors that a coffee bean alone could produce and has blossomed into a unique coffee bar and roastery in historic Niles in Fremont.

Philz Coffee

Philz Coffee, beloved in the bay and beyond, is taking over as the new go-to coffee shop for coffee lovers. Philz roasts their own coffee in Oakland and serves drip-filter customized blends with the option of mixing in heavy cream or brown sugar.

Blue Bottle

Blue Bottle Coffee started up in Oakland when founder James Freeman vowed to serve coffee no more than 48 hours after it had been roasted so that people could once again experience what real coffee tastes like. Blue Bottle serves up cappuccinos, macchiatos, espressos, lattes, cold brews, iced coffees, individually made pour overs, and the ever-so-exciting affogato.

B2 Coffee

Visit B2, the San Pedro Square location of Bellano Coffee, for a meticulously crafted cup of joe under the high ceiling rafters of San Pedro Square Market. Here you’ll find knowledgeable baristas making individual coffees from premium roaster’s such as Sightglass and Verve.

Barefoot Coffee

Barefoot Coffee Roasters can be visited as a roll-up bar or at their retail facilities around the bay. They sell a wide variety of beans and specialize in unique and interesting explosions of flavors such as velvety espressos with notes of chocolate brownies and dates or their bright Yirgacheffe Kochere single-origin blend from Ethiopia that features tastes of honeydew melon and mandarin orange.

At Artís, it’s all about the story of your coffee, from seed to sip. They are proud to present sustainably and ethically sourced coffee, single-origin roasts, and even coffee roasted on the spot and customized to individual taste to create the best possible customer experience. This is an exciting place to play around with types of beans and preparation styles to find a new favorite coffee.

Modern Coffee

Modern Coffee sources locally when it comes to both their pastries and milk as well as their roasts, taking advantage of the plethora of premium vendors in the Bay Area and featuring roasts from the big favorites such as Chromatic Coffee Co., Counter Culture Coffee, and Verve Coffee Roasters, which are mostly located in San Francisco.

Roy’s Station Coffee & Tea

Roy’s Station Coffee & Tea was formerly a landmark gas station run by Roy but is now the place to get your fix of the Verve Coffee Roasters’ brew right in the heart of Japantown in San Jose. This unique family-run coffee destination sells a variety of fun drinks such as the churro churro latte as well as specialty teas, pastries and snacks.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
