It’s almost that time of the week again – here’s what you should be doing when the clock hits 5 this Friday.

Friday 9/25

Friday Nights at the de Young: Every Friday night San Francisco’s premiere fine arts museum opens its doors for a free, after-hours art soiree. The event includes an assorted mix of live music, dance performances, film screenings, art demos and more. The gallery cafe also offers a special Friday night only drink menu for your added enjoyment. So grab a cocktail, channel your inner art historian, and enjoy the spectacular galleries and art work of the de Young.

When: Free museum admission after 5:30PM.

Where: de Young Museum

SF OktoberFest by the Bay: Sad you’re not in Munich right now, sipping on a beer and sporting some uncomfortable lederhosen? OktoberFest by the Bay brings all the best parts of the German celebration conveniently to San Francisco. The three-day festival offers all the over-sized cold beer, tasty Bavarian cuisine, and authentic live entertainment you could ask for! Make sure to get your ticket in advance – they’re going quick!

Bay Area Vibez: If beer and Bavarian music isn’t your thing, check out the Bay Area Vibez music festival this weekend. The two-day, three-stage festival will feature over twenty-five of the top names in reggae, hip hop, and EDM. Featuring big names like Bassnectar and Cut Chemist, the Oakland-based event is slated to be the Bay Area’s biggest urban music fest of the year.

Tickets: Here ($85 for single day)

Sunday 9/27

Folsom Street Festival: Bust out your best leather-and-chain get-up – it’s Folsom Street Fair time! An event that could only take place in San Francisco, the 32nd annual Folsom Street Fair celebrates all things leather, all things fetish, and of course, all things outrageous. The event spans over 13 blocks and brings together more than 400,000 fetish-loving attendees. Even if whips and chains aren’t your thing, go; it’s one of those unique San Francisco events you have to experience at least once!

When: 11AM – 6PM

Where: Folsom Street (between 8th and 13th Streets), SoMa, San Francisco, CA, USA

Tickets: Free!

Treasure Island Flea Market: A great excuse to take a ferry across the bay this weekend, Northern California’s largest monthly gathering of artists, collectors, designers, craftsmen, and food trucks takes place this Saturday and Sunday on Treasure Island. Along with the large selection of art and designs displayed, the event also features local musicians and entertainers and hosts a full bar with local wines, beers, and spirits.
