Live Jazz Showcase

Monday, December 7th

Time to get classy this week. Watch as acclaimed Bay Area musician and bandleader Adam Theis provides musicians with a structured approach to interpreting and creating diverse repertoire in a hip community band setting. This ensemble program will be showcasing exciting arrangements and original compositions at the SF Jazz Center.

Tuesday Night Pub Quiz

According to Google weather, dreary weather is in the forecast for next week. Stay indoors at Edinburgh Castle Pub and partake in their weekly pub quiz. The quiz will cover current events, pop culture, music, pictures, and a special round, so start sprucing up now. Cash prizes go to the top winners and beer for the not-so winners — because no one’s a loser around here.

Free Ice Skate Rental Union Square

Wednesday, December 9th

Every Wednesday this holiday season, the Union Square ice rink is offering free skate rentals upon purchase of admissions ($11). Impress your date — take her out to dinner, drinks, and show off with your grace on ice. Beware: it can get busy, so make this a late-night affair.

Drag Queens on Ice

Yes, you did just read that correctly. Union Square is bringing you Drag Queens on Ice. Only in a city so liberal as San Francisco could you watch three drag queens go head-to-head in skate-offs and sing-offs ON ICE. You don’t want to miss this hilarious event.

Home Alone Movie in the Park

Friday, December 11th

Grab your family, a blanket and enjoy a fun, free outdoor movie under the stars, complete with free popcorn and It’s-It ice cream this Friday. The event will be held on the lawn behind the Presidio Dance Theatre on the Presidio’s Main Post. Inclement weather will move the screening indoors to the Presidio YMCA gymnasium.
