Macy’s Annual Great Tree Lighting Ceremony
Black Friday isn’t the only thing Macy’s gets excited for during the holiday season. The national retailer loves to share the holiday spirit with local communities. Since 1989, Macy’s has gifted San Francisco a tree lighting ceremony in the heart of Union Square. At 83′, the reusable tree fits perfectly with the environmentally friendly city. 33,000 energy-efficient LED lights and 1,100 colorful ornaments flicker on the tree, while musical performances by a special celebrity guest and local choirs entertain the crowd. This is not a night to miss.

Didn’t have time to write your letter to Santa? Don’t worry; you can write your letter — and wishes — at the Letters to Santa workshop, sponsored by the United States Postal Service. End the night gazing up at a 60-foot tree decorated with sparkly lights and ornaments.
