Pellegrini Wine Company
Fill your glass with good wines and good vibes at the newly revitalized Pellegrini Wine Company grounds this Saturday, August 15th, for their second annual Summer Music Series. Local band MT & the Wolves will set the summer blues mood while guests enjoy BBQ food truck cuisine at picnic areas, courtesy of The Whisky Tip, across the winery grounds.
Pellegrini is known for being at the forefront of pinot noir production on the Russian River, as well as for its coveted Olivet Lane grapes. You may have already enjoyed some Pellegrini-enhanced live music this past weekend if you caught the staff pouring out of Outside Lands’ Wine Lands tent.
Admission to the Summer Music Series is free, and the tasting room will be open all day for a $10 tasting fee. Be sure to try one of their 2013 Olivet Lane Vineyard wines, which are being released this year after a brief hiatus.
Finish out the weekend strong with the first in B.R. Cohn’s Music Series this Sunday, August 16th. The occasion will mark the return of Beso, a jazz manouche band with a modern twist, and a favorite performer from the 2014 series, to the B.R. Cohn amphitheater. (Fun fact: You may have sipped your Pellegrini to the tune of Beso when they performed at Outside Lands this past weekend!)
The Music Series will continue throughout August and September, featuring California performers Madison Hudson Band, Kingsborough, and Belmont Lights. You may have caught Kingsborough at Napa’s BottleRock festival in 2014, and you would probably recognize Belmont Lights’ “Warrior” from its feature in the Golden State Warriors’ playoff season this year.
Check out the full schedule and purchase general admission Music Series tickets for $20 here. There will also be plenty of food– and of course, wine– for purchase at the venue.
Gundlach Bundschu has been rocking all summer long, starting with a performance by the popular New Jerseyan band Real Estate at the winery’s Redwood Barn in May. The grove continued to groove as the winery hosted its 6th annual music festival, Huichica, in June, featuring notable performers like Shannon & the Clams, Sonny Smith, and Allah-Las.
If you missed those events, you definitely can’t skip the last few shows in this star-studded summer series. Coming up throughout September and October, the winery will host Cat Power, Bonnie Prince Billy, Fruit Bats, and Mudhoney, giving you the chance to make some musical memories that will keep you warm throughout the winter.
Francis Ford Coppola
Francis Ford Coppola Winery hosts a weekly live music series set in the beautiful outdoors at the iconic Pool Café. The concerts are held every Friday from spring to summer, so there are still a few shows to catch throughout August! Artists throughout the next few weeks include Tom Duarte, Jason Bodlovich, and Jefferson Bergey.
Admission is free, and attendees can try out the café’s pizzas, salads, paninis, and gelato, as well as enjoy a full cocktail menu and wine by the glass. Check out the full details here. If you like the atmosphere, be sure to come back for the winery’s Dancing Under the Stars Swing & Salsa series!
