The Los Angeles Podcast Festival

 📅   Friday, September 23rd, 2016 – Sunday, September 25th, 2016

 The LA Podcast Festival returns for its fifth annual event, bringing on a three-day broadcasting bonanza. Founded by comics Dave Anthony (The Dollop), Graham Elwood and Chris Mancini (both of Comedy Film Nerds) the festival began as a comedy-centric event. In the years since its founding, the fest has diversified its line-ups to add a dose of broader entertainment topics and a load of technological insight. 38 podcasts will broadcast live from the event, in addition to an uproar of a stand-up show and panels ranging from narrative storytelling in podcasts to insights on the platform itself. You can even record your own thoughts at the DIY Podcasting Lab. With a kickoff event at The Improv in Hollywood, this festival highlights the cutting edge of comedy.

Now Hear This Podcast Festival

Now Hear This is will host over 30 live podcast recordings on 6 stages over 3 days. Comedy fans will be glad to know WTF with Marc Maron is on the bill, along with the comically bad film reviews of How Did This Get Made and Scott Aukerman’s hybrid of talk show and character acting Comedy Bang! Bang! Joining these comedy heavyweights are popular storytelling podcast The Moth and Radiotopia’s Criminal. The full lineup is forthcoming but with these names already signed on, connoisseurs will want to register early.

Festival Supreme

 Jack Black and Kyle Gas, the reigning musically inclined comedians behind Tenacious D, have curated a gut-busting line-up of comedians, music, and comical music/musical comedy. In its fourth year, Festival Supreme presents New Zealand-based comedy band Flight of the Conchords at the top of the bill, along with ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic. The hilarious Patton Oswalt and Sarah Silverman will do stand-up sets in addition to Fred Armison and Maya Rudolph. The Vandals will serve up some tunes, along with the music of Wet Hot American Summer and sets by Tenacious DJ to send you spinning you in revelry. Get your whole body into these laughs.

LA Comedy Festival

 LA Comedy Fest is bringing a diverse round of comedy acts in the form of sketch, stand-up and film. The festival is committed to shedding light on undiscovered talent as well as celebrating the industry’s best. Films take center stage at the festival, which showcases shorts and features, awards the worthiest and includes a well known screenplay competition for film, TV and web. Sketch and stand-up will be well represented as well, making this festival an ode to comedy in all its forms.
