Sunday: CHURCH @ UCB Sunset
CHURCH is a comedy show for audiences to get much-needed laughs in before getting back to the weekly grind. Revolving hosts Beth Stelling, Sean O’Conner, and Brent Sullivan are all great performers in their own right, but they also feature a diverse line-up of comedians. The show began at an actual church in Highland Park, but now graces the formidable new UCB complex on Sunset. Praise the mic, your prayers have been answered.
Show starts at 9pm. Tickets $5!
Monday: The Business @ Little Joy
Get your week started right with some weird and wild laughs at The Business, hosted by Sean Keane, Anna Seregina, Chris Garcia, and Caitlin Gill. No longer a dive, Little Joy in Echo Park provides a perfectly intimate venue for experimentation and comedy. Witness out-of-towner comedians swoop in or your favorite local performers try something new. Trust the professionals – they know what they’re doing.

Tuesday: Creep Show @ Malo
Creep Show is the newest show on this list, and it’s evolved greatly since its inception. Right now is the best time to dive in, as comedian/loop pedal genius Drennon Davis plays musical emcee with a revolving set of hosts (some of the best local comics performing now). Nestled in the upper attic of hipster Mexican restaurant Malo, the atmosphere recalls an old school stand-up vibe with the velvet and brick décor, complete with fake candles. Don’t forget to grab a margarita!
Show starts at 8pm. Free!
Wednesday: The Meltdown With Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani @ The NerdMelt Showroom
The Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail has grown massively over the years, but remains the best comedy show in Los Angeles, having had two seasons translated to Comedy Central (and a third one on the way). Comedians Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani (the latter currently appears on HBO’s Silicon Valley) take the piss out of each other like brothers as they introduce some of the finest comedians this city (and country) has to offer. They always have surprises up their sleeves, with top drop-ins like Sarah Silverman, Aziz Ansari, and Louis C.K. More than that, Jonah and Kumail, along with powerhouse producer Emily V Gordon, have fostered a tight community that takes the laughs to the next level.
Show starts at 8:30pm. Tickets are $8!
Thursday: Fresh Out! LA @ UCB Sunset
Emily Heller and Adam Conovor are two of the funniest comedians working today. Their show, Fresh Out! at UCB Sunset, is your chance to see them do their thing every week, along with a diverse line-up of comedians bringing out the big guns. It’s practically guaranteed to tickle every bone in your body. Heller and Conover are hilarious and have great taste to boot, so you’re in good hands when they’re at the wheel.
Show starts at 8:30pm. Tickets are $5!
Friday: SAUCE @ DeSano Pizza Bakery
Holed up in the back pocket of DeSano Pizza Bakery outside Little Armenia, SAUCE is a tiny bunker of a comedy show with a big heart and even bigger laughs. The show is hosted by a revolving tetrad of LA’s finest, like Barbara Gray, Eric Dadourian, Erin Lampert, and Jeff Watenhoffer, all whom bring a different flavor to the mic. This close-knit laugh-fest is the best kind of pizza party.
Show starts at 8pm. $5 suggested donation!
