Get the Star Wars Cantina Experience at Hollywood's Scum and Villainy

If you have ever dreamed of drinking like a certain scoundrel and his “walking carpet,” you’ll have your chance when Scum and Villainy opens in a secret location in Hollywood in April. Scum and Villainy is modeled after the Chalmun’s Cantina, the rough Mos Eisley dive where Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encounter the cocksure smuggler Han Solo and his co-pilot Chewbacca in Star Wars: A New Hope. Kenobi cautions young Skywalker that the Mos Eisley Spaceport is a “wretched hive of scum and villainy,” hence the name of this sci-fi pop-up.

Details about the pop-up are murky, as event organizers have been intentionally secretive about what exactly the cantina will contain since they announced it in August of 2016. The bar will serve food, though the menu has not yet been released. The bar will also serve drinks, of course, though it isn’t clear if there will be themed cocktails. Its location is also a secret, though it is somewhere in Hollywood within the 90028 ZIP code. Organizers have promised that Scum and Villainy will be fully immersive, and hope that guests dress up in their best costumes. (Note: Lightsabers and other weaponry may be checked at the door.)

Reservations for the bar have sold out. However, more may be released in the future. If so, they start at $50 and net the buyer a guaranteed two-hour time slot in the cantina, two drink coupons, a souvenir pint glass, and a challenge coin that allows entry during open hours. If you don’t have a reservation, walk-ins are accepted from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. nightly on a first-come, first-served basis. Scum and Villainy is poised to open during the first week of April, though the exact date has yet to be revealed.
