Updated: 29 March 2016
The wreck of Antikythera is a Roman shipwreck from the 1st century, found off the coast of the Greek island Antikythera in 1990. Items from the site have been salvaged for years, and each time, new information is brought to the surface. The Getty presents artifacts from recent excavations of the shipwreck, shedding light on a scale comparable to the the sinking of the Titanic. The exhibit is free, but does require an advanced ticket.
