Food from the eastside of the LA is taking center stage at Taste of the Eastside, now its sixth year running. The festival is one day only, at the beautiful Los Angeles River Center and Gardens, and the festival is featuring some of the most famous vendors of the East Side–among them are G&B Coffee, Donut Farm, Little Dom’s, and Jeni’s Splendid Ice cream. Newer restaurants are also being offered, so it’s a great place to try and find a new weekend favorite. Pair tasty samples with a choice from an array of wine merchants, or check out the breweries that also have a spot in this festival. There will be music to go with the high quality food, great views, and if that’s not enough, the festival is for a good cause. Proceeds are going towards multiple organizations, but the primary beneficiary is the Rose Scharlin Cooperative Nursery School, LA’s oldest co-op for kids. Check it out—because really, it’s for the children.
