Picture of Culture Trip
Updated: 1 July 2016
The 7th Annual Salsa Festival on The Fillmore closes off three city blocks to host free concerts, salsa lessons, and dancing under the stars at the Fillmore Center Plaza. Friday night’s Montuno Swing event will feature Tony Succar’s Latin tribute to Michael Jackson, along with MC and dance teacher J Luis Musica and partner Lorena Zuluaga. Saturday’s ‘Salson’ event will feature free dance lessons starting at 6 PM with Saturday’s dance instructor, Tomaj Trenda. Saturday’s after party will take place at the Fillmore Heritage Center from 9:30 PM to 1 AM. Entry is $20. Last year’s festival had a huge turnout, and this year is expected to be the same. The festival is sponsored by The SF Arts Commission and The Fillmore Center Apts. Watch the preview video here.
