Celebrate Jazz History In San Francisco’s Fillmore District

Picture of Culture Trip
Updated: 1 July 2016
The 32nd Annual Fillmore Jazz Festival will take place this July, blending art and soul in one of the country’s most unique neighborhoods. This is the largest free jazz festival on the West Coast, which attracts over 100,000 visitors on Independence Day weekend. From sunup to sundown, visitors can enjoy the sounds of live music from three stages of continuous jazz performances, browse the offerings of over 12 blocks of fine art and crafts, and enjoy gourmet international food courts with some of the best food and beverages that San Francisco has to offer. From Asian to Cajun, paintings to pottery, old favorites and new directions, the Fillmore Jazz Festival is not to be missed. The festival will take place, rain or shine, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Check out the entertainment schedule here. This year’s theme is ‘In Tribute’ and will feature dedications to David Bowie, Ernestine Anderson, Phil Woods, Frank Sinatra, Jr., and many more. RSVP and invite your friends to the Facebook event.
