Frustrated by all of the amazing things to do in the Bay Area that you simply can’t afford right now? Check out these sweet deals that will let you experience the city and have money left over for rent. Whether you want to explore new things in the city on your own, plan for a memorable date, or romp around with the gang, these are all great options to consider this fall.

Swing Dancing: Learn The Moves And The History

Lindy Hop/Swing Dance Classes for two, hosted by the 9:20 Special (‘San Francisco Home for Swing Dancing’), are followed by a social dance party that boasts hundreds of participants each week who want to come join in the revelry. The event is held every Thursday at the Russian Center in San Francisco and welcomes all levels of dancers. Grab a partner, romantic or not, and mosey down to enjoy the ‘rapture of swing.’

Take The Bay Area Ski Bus To Lake Tahoe This Winter

Skiing at Lake Tahoe seems like an enormous endeavor for San Franciscans who lack their own wheels and have limited time. But those white crests and crisp skies are so tempting, especially after extended periods in the mistiest of cities. The Bay Area Ski Bus offers a financially doable solution. Book a space (at a Groupon discount) and relax while you’re whisked away for a stress-free day trip. Lift tickets have to be bought separately, but the company organizes your day seamlessly so that you can cruise straight from the comfortable bus to the slopes and back (at which point you get bonus snacks) without overextending yourself or your budget.

Xperience Adventures’ Urban Adventure Race is a nationwide series held in major cities across the United States, so don’t worry if you miss this one, you’ll get another chance!

Ward Off Karl The Fog At Imperial Spa

Take a much-deserved Korean-style Spa Day trip for one or two at Imperial Spa in Japantown. Passes include access to a steam room, saunas, Jacuzzis and showers for less than normal asking price when you use Groupon. Escape from the impending cold and mist into a steamy (granted, also misty) wonderland where those tired old bones can relax from all the uphill walking.

Take A Tour Of The Historical San Francisco Armory

Far-flung from your traditional historical tour, the San Francisco Armory Tour for two is much more unique and risqué. Supplemented by a tour of the adult film set at Armory Studios, the tour of the Armory, colloquially known as ‘Kink Castle,’ demonstrates a celebration of sexuality while also illustrating the building’s extensive history. Since its construction in 1914, the Armory has housed a myriad of assemblies, including the National Guard, George Lucas’ film sets for the first Star Wars movie, and eventually the adult film sets. Take a date for a kinky, intellectual evening at this exceptional venue, for almost half the usual price.

Ceramics Classes: Learn To Sculpt

Learn the fundamentals of clay sculpting in two two-hour sessions in Ceramics Class with Natasha Dikareva at Workspace Limited Art Studios. Choose from a series of times tailored to your busy schedule and learn to harness all that creative energy that so often seeps away during Netflix binges. This activity is perfect for all those would-be-if-not-for-rent artists out there that need an outlet for their extensive imaginations and creative desires. Work your hand, your mind and take the chance to get a little dirty — something that all city dwellers need now and then.

Zumba: Working Out Doesn’t Have To Be Work

The excruciating San Francisco hills have toned your calves to perfection, but what about the rest? Zumba Class with Adriana comes highly recommended for those who crave a fun, high-energy workout that doesn’t make you cringe at the idea of going to the gym. Not necessarily everyone’s idea of fun, Zumba can be a great outlet for pent-up energy and releases plenty of endorphins to get you excited for expanding your adventures in the Bay Area. This Groupon deal (link above) features ten Zumba classes for the price of two, meaning you’ll be burning calories rather than a giant, smoking hole in your wallet. Dual locations in Daly City and Mission allow for patrons from all areas of the Bay.

Mixology: Learn The Nuances Of Your Libations

With the recent explosion of expensive cocktail lounges in the Bay Area, what’s a guy or gal to do to get their fix of deliciously subtle cocktails without going broke? Try this very modestly priced two-hour Mixology Class at The Cocktail Camp that will help you on your way to being a liquor connoisseur and mixologist (a wonderful secret talent to have if you enjoy hosting dinner parties or elegant cocktail nights with friends). Learn to engage with your tequila, rum or whiskey in a way that respects flavor and taste. You’ll never be satisfied with Bud Light again.
