The Gourmet Pizzeria

Up on the 4th floor of the Westin Bonaventure, a four-star, Asian-inspired hotel, is Gourmet Pizzeria. Available varieties often include a meaty deluxe combo, a multi-topping vegetarian, mushroom and the basic favorite margherita, or fresh tomato, mozzarella and basil. The hardest thing is deciding on a slice here, so giving in to two may be necessary.

This popular 6th Street lunch restaurant lives up to its name. It offers luscious L.A.-invented varieties like chicken BBQ and serves mostly New York thin-crust pizza. Something especially noteworthy here is the daily option for a Sicilian or square slice, which is usually topped with a generous amount of salami cuts. In contrast to meat toppings, there are a few colorful options for vegetarians who often have to settle on plain cheese. Stay in roomy L.A. New York Pizza’s parlor area or take out a few slices to go.
