LA-based Gehry is among the most acclaimed architects of the 20th century, with his most-recognised designs including the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA. His course for education platform MasterClass will give students a unique insight into his creative processes and a glimpse into his never-before-seen model archive.
The course, which is due to begin this spring, will include 15 video sessions on his architectural principles, showcasing his sketches, models and most famous case studies. There will also be a downloadable workbook with assignments for each class, which will then receive feedback from the group, with Gehry also offering critiques of student work.
The MasterClasses are designed to give anyone the chance to have access to the knowledge of the world’s best creators, providing an affordable learning alternative – Gehry’s class costs around £72 ($90). Other MasterClass instructors include famous names such as electronic music producer Deadmau5, tennis champion Serena Williams and world-class photographer Annie Leibovitz.
Each of the courses has around two to five hours of video content, which can be taken at your own pace – once you’ve booked the course, you’ll have lifetime access to all the content. To browse the full list of MasterClasses available, click here.
