CheapAir CEO, Jeff Klee, told Condé Nast Traveler, “[It] is a nice change for consumers accustomed to ever-increasing prices.” But, one day is cheaper than the rest: June 6. “The data clearly shows the best value for summer travel can be found the first half of June,” added Klee. In contrast, Klee revealed that Sunday, July 9 is the most expensive travel day of the entire summer (AVOID!).
If June is a no go, August 22, and September 12 are also other cheap alternatives. “August and September are better months for travel than July in general,” continued Klee. “August airfares are, on average, about 7% less expensive than July. You can really save money by avoiding July travel.”
If you prefer jetting out on the weekends, your best bet according to CheapAir.com is to book later in the summer: You can also choose Saturday over Sunday to save, which is often the more affordable day to fly on a weekend,” Klee added.
Now all you’ve got to do is choose where you’re escaping to, and of course, we’ve got some inspiration for you.
