Huckleberry Square

Huckleberry Square is famous for its pie counter. Set up like an old-style diner, the place is teeming with people of all ages, and is usually filled with people dropping in for a snack and coffee. The staff is extremely helpful, and will keep your coffee topped up without asking. The pancakes and the streusel cake come highly recommended, as do their pies.

Countryside Café

An old diner-style place that’s practically a hole-in-the-wall, the ambiance of the Countryside Cafe is a draw for many who search for a breakfast the way they used to have in their childhood. Since the place is small, waiting times can be long, so be sure to get there early, especially on the weekends. Service is fast though, and friendly, and the helpings are generous to say the least.

Grand Central Bakery

A busy bakery come café, the pastries are fantastic here, and the place has a cozy feel to it. The Grand Central Bakery also offers a variety of salads and sandwiches for those coming in later, made with their own varieties of artisan breads. The bakery will leave you with a dilemma of what to choose though, everything looks and tastes delicious.

The 909

A cool café-restaurant, The 909 offers a range of meals, from breakfast early in the morning, through to brunch, lunch and dinner later in the day. A variety of options are available to suit every taste. Try the incredibly decadent peanut-butter French toast, or the bacon and brie French toasts. Seasonal favorites ensure the menu is always fresh, and there’s always something new to try. In the evening the spot transforms into a local wine bar, with a variety of wines to sample.

A great little mom-and-pop kind of café, this place is not too crowded, and the food is good. Any shortfall in the usual hipster décor is made up for by the food and the service. The staff are super-friendly, and make every effort to make you comfortable and at home. The prices are super-economical, and you can fill yourself up on less than $10 anytime!

Han’s Sausage And Delicatessen

Not quite the breakfast joint, this authentic German deli is known for the meat varieties it stocks. Their sausages and other options are tasty and authentic, testified to by the regulars who pop by every week to stock up on salami, bratwurst, chocolate and cheeses. They also serve sandwiches made from fresh bread, and a variety of German beers are available throughout the day.
