“Those surveyed were between the ages of 18 and 69 and were asked to share their attitudes about booking cheap flights,” according to VIVA. “More than a third of respondents (37 percent) reported feeling happy about saving money on their trip, with one in four said they feel smart or accomplished after scoring a deal.”
An estimated 59 percent of respondents also said that booking a good flight deal was more satisfying than a first date, while a surprising 70 percent of people said they enjoy the triumphant feeling of saving money over a good wine or beer.
“The bottom line is that Americans love saving on flights and doing so strategically,” reports AOL Finance. “Nearly 1 out of every 3 Americans have booked their lights at a specific time of day thinking that it’ll help them save more.”
