Barack Obama is certainly enjoying his free time after serving as President of the United States for eight years. Most recently, Obama and wife Michelle were invited to the British Virgin Islands by business magnate Richard Branson.

The trip wasn’t just all about relaxing though. Branson wanted to teach Obama how to kitesurf, while Branson dabbled in the foilboard. So the challenge was made: Could Barack Obama learn to kitesurf before Richard Branson learned to foilboard?

Kitesurfing, for the uninitiated, is a surface water sport where riders stand on a board and are harnessed to a large kite, moving around the water via the power of the wind. Foilboarding is a tad different as there is a hydrofoil that extends below the board into the water allowing the rider on the board to leave the surface of the water at some speeds.
