Coffee is a worldwide delight, and Mexico is no exception. Mexican cafés are not just a place to drink coffee, but a meeting point where locals literally spend hours talking. Chill out in a Mexican café while enjoying the flavors of vanilla, cocoa, and other Mexican ingredients mixed in a delicious coffee. Check our list of 10 cafés in Cancun that fuse the best in ambience and taste.

Ah Cacao Chocolate Café

In the beautiful Isla Village Shopping center, also known as Isla Mall, there’s a cozy café called Ah Cacao Chocolate. Also known as “Ah Cacao,” on offer is a sweet feast of delightful desserts made of chocolate. This is a good place to stop by and take coffee in a shopping afternoon, where you will be greeted by staff with samples of their chocolate. Take a brownie ice cream, a cheesecake, frappe latte or even better, drink something you’ll not find anywhere else: a Mayan hot chocolate.

Café Andrade

El Café Mexicano

Located in the Ritz Carlton hotel, this place has a cool climate that takes you away from the heat of Cancun. The place is elegant and the service excellent. Despite it belonging to a hotel, locals and other tourists can come and enjoy of their delicious dishes. It’s open for breakfast and lunch, so you can try the brunch or other plates from the menu, like the enchiladas or scrambled eggs Mexican-style. We recommend the healthy morning juice called “green juice.”

Tradiciones Latte Arte Café

Located in a beautiful neighborhood near the Malecón Américas Mall, Tradiciones Latte Arte also offers yummy coffee from Veracruz, taking care in both the taste and the presentation of every drink. The staff take very seriously their motto “art can also be drunk,” making a work of art out of every cup of coffee, drawing forms of birds, bulldogs, dolphins and even cartoons with the foam. The ambience is casual, go with your friends or alone, and try the “Nutellatte,” a delicious chocolate latte.

Café Nader

Located on the popular Nader Avenue – also known as “the retro zone” – Café Nader has a nice ambience and good service. Waiters even personalize your order so you can taste different dishes. It may be a café but they serve all meals, from breakfast, to lunch and dinner. Try a pepito de pierna, a typical Mexican bread with meat. Have a typical Mexican home dinner: quesadillas (tortillas with cheese), enfrijoladas (tortillas covered with fried beans, cream and cheese), or if you prefer something less heavy, order a piece of Mexican bread: concha, rol, or cuernito. There’s a terrace available where you can soak up your surroundings while you eat.

Pepe Piraña Café

This café is a good reason to visit downtown. Pepe Piraña has a retro atmosphere, excellent décor, with reasonable prices and great service – one of those places for long hangouts with friends while enjoying delicious drinks and food. On the menu at this cafe you will find inventive drinks combinations, such as coffee with horchata (a traditional sweet drink) for example. Pepe Piraña is an ideal place to meet your friends or come alone to relax and drink a good cup of coffee.

Pancho’s Café and Deli

Good flavors and great service defines this café located at Semoran Boulevard. Pancho’s Café and Deli is a peaceful place where you go to have dinner with your partner or friends. Renowned for its warm service, you can get a good meal at a reasonable price and end it with a delicious cappuccino and a piece of cake.

Café con Gracia

Translated as “Coffee with Grace,” the design of the place is as creative as its name. The rustic tables and chairs together with the colorful umbrellas of the terrace give a playful and relaxing touch. This is the atmosphere for university students and younger generations. In addition to coffee, their original beverages include mint frappe, gum frappe, and the best chai tea in the area, all served in hipster crystal glasses. Café con Gracia also presents cultural performances.

Tu Café

Fancy drinking a delicious cup of coffee while listening to a poetry reading? The façade of this café looks simple, but once you open the door you’re immersed in another universe. Tu Café is an idyllic place for culture and arts where you can read, write, and paint. Take a coffee with cinnamon and anise and join one of the groups, and meet new people. Every day there’s a different activity, like Open Jam Jazz Funk Sessions, theater and literature. If you are an artist or just like arts, come and see how they do it in Mexico.
