The magic of Harry Potter is a worldwide phenomenon. Hot on the heels of The Cursed Child, J.K. Rowling’s latest book about the popular wizard and the adapted stage show of the same name, Mexico City is jumping on the boy-wizard bandwagon with the projected opening of a new Harry Potter themed bar.

Called Incantatum, this restaurant/bar has a Harry Potter theme won’t just dominate the décor, as drinks such as the infamous wizarding beverage Butterbeer will supposedly make an appearance on the creative menu. Accompany your Butterbeer with the Snape burger, if you’re feeling treacherous but loyal deep down, or give the papas a la Beauxbatons a try. However, the drinks are said to be the true draw to this Harry Potter establishment; despite allowing minors in until 8pm, the alcoholic concoctions they’ve crafted are apparently well worth the wait.

While this is not the city’s first Harry Potter inspired venue, it has generated much media interest over the last few days. As Mexican media reports, and the team at Incantatum themselves acknowledge, there are already at least three other options for the diehard Harry Potter fan in Mexico; El Caldero Chorreado in Tlalpan, which was the city’s first bar of this kind, El Callejón D and El Mesón de los 3 Magos, both of which are in Narvarte. The latter even sells merchandise that lets you proudly display your house colors, while El Callejón D regularly hosts magic-themed events that will satisfy all your Harry Potter needs. At least you can rest easy in the knowledge that there are other options out there, should the grand opening of Incantatum take longer than expected.
