It also has a courtyard, DJ, and food trucks. 8th & Main
Speaking of Main Street, another favorite store here is 8th & Main. Lonely Planet calls it “Vancouver’s largest hipster clothing store.” An independently owned and operated boutique, 8th & Main focuses on affordable clothes, shoes, and accessories for men and women. The store stocks over 100 brands from countries such as Canada, the United States, Denmark, and Australia. It also has a smaller satellite shop on Granville Island.

Beginning in Vancouver in 2010, OAK + FORT has since grown to include 18 stores across North America. The boutique in Gastown is all about the minimalist aesthetic and affordable luxury. “We invest in our products with the hopes of creating tomorrow’s classics.” Expect to find clothing and accessories for both men and women, as well as a home section. Hawksworth Restaurant
Inside the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Hawksworth Restaurant is the place to be seen in Vancouver. It’s where many celebrities dine while filming in the city. Not only has it been voted Vancouver’s best restaurant, but the Hawksworth Restaurant was also voted one of the 50 best restaurants in the world by Diners Club International. The restaurant has four rooms: the Bar & Lounge, the stunning Art Deco Pearl Room, the Art Room, and the York Room. The menu is a modern mixture of global flavors, taking inspiration from international cuisines such as French, Japanese, Canadian, and Mexican. But Diners Club International says the standout dish is the slow-cooked Nova Scotia lobster.

Be inspired by local and international artists at the Vancouver Art Gallery, one of Canada’s leading art museums. The art gallery, which sits in the city’s former courthouse, is beautiful both inside and out. Exhibitions have included work by renowned Canadian artists such as Emily Carr and Douglas Coupland. The Vancouver Art Gallery also founded an Institute of Asian Art, so exhibits highlight artwork by various contemporary Asian artists too.
