During the summer months in particular, out-of-province and local travelers alike visit Montreal for its lively season of ongoing festivals and special events. Many tourists come not only with friends and/or family, but also bring their pets along for the trip. Here are some of the top hotels in the city that offer flexible services and even loyalty programs for travelers and their furry companions.
Loews is a five-star boutique hotel located in downtown Montreal. They offer a program called “Loews Loves Pets,” in which guests can travel with their pets for a one-time $25 fee. Members get a brochure that outlines the hotel’s services, which includes a sleeping mat and bowls, specialized room service menus, and more. Pets also receive a treat bag when checking in. Pet-friendly rooms are located on the third floor only, so that all hotel guests can be comfortable.
Le St-Sulpice is beautifully situated in the Old Port, and the hotel is a certified member of the “Pets Can Stay” program. When checking in, guests can receive accessories for their four-legged friends, along with a “Pet in Suite” door sign. Additional bed covers can also be delivered to your room, free of charge. There is an extra non-refundable $50 cleaning fee for staying at Le St-Sulpice with pets.

Located in downtown Montreal, Le Germain is another boutique hotel that welcomes pets for $30 per night at one dog per room. At check-in, staff can provide guests with a pet food mat, bowls, and a bed. Dogs must be leashed while in the hotel, and cannot be left in the room unattended. Pet-sitters can be arranged with advance notice with the concierge.
Sofitel Montreal is located in the historic Golden Square Mile district, catering to both business travelers and art lovers. Dog and cats are allowed with a surcharge, and subject to presentation of a rabies certificate. However, you will need to keep your pet on a leash in public parts of the hotel, and they are not permitted into the dining areas.
Another hotel in the heart of downtown Montreal, Hotel Bonaventure allows pets up to 75 lbs for a fee of $50 per pet, per stay. Taking up the top two floors of Place Bonaventure, a 17-storey commercial and business complex, the hotel aims to combine “the benefits of a working environment and a resort.” In this way, you can bring your dog along for both your business trips and vacations.
Located in the city’s business district, Hotel Le Crystal permits guests to have one dog up to 40 lbs for a fee of $75 per room, per stay. Cats are also welcome. All four-legged guests receive a “Crystal Pet Kit” with water, food bowls, and special treats for free.
