Toronto is climbing the ranks as one of the fashion capitals of the world. However, living lavishly in designer brands is not always an easy pursuit (fake it till you make it?). Thankfully, these stores in Toronto make your designer dreams a reality by making high-end brands accessible through consignment. Follow this guide for the top ten in the city.
Haute Classics, located on Yonge St., just south of St. Clair Avenue, is not only beautifully decorated and bright, but its organization and knowledgable service makes shopping easy. Some of the eye candy includes rows of designer shoes stacked methodically from smallest to largest in size, piles of Hermes scarves, as well as Chloe, Prada, and LV bags perched on shelves. The store provides goods from the highest-end (cough, Celine), to more affordable designers (think Marc Jacobs) – leaving any shopper satisfied. For those looking to sell rather than buy, in terms of consignment, Haute Classics has one of the best deals in the city providing consignors 60-70% profit of sales above $1,000 (most average at 30-50% for reference). Definitely a spot worth checking out!

The pick of the most posh, Fashionably Yours is located in the heart of Queen West – fittingly, as it was dubbed the second coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue. FY carries both men’s and women’s apparel and accessories, as well as an under $200 section for those less willing to splurge. If you are looking for something exclusive, FY recently collaborated with NYC fine artist Sue Tsai to create a limited edition racerback and print. What sets Fashionably Yours apart from its peers, however, is the fact that it accepts online orders through Paypal, with free shipping in Canada and the U.S. In addition, FY was one of the only retailers with access to Kanye’s recent, ‘Feel Like Pablo,’ merch. Follow them on Instagram for sneak peaks of incoming pieces, as the best sell quickly at this popular spot.

Located at Dundas and Brock, VSP is all about excellence. Without being overly focused on the brands themselves, the design of the store is minimalistic and clean. In addition to the quality hand-picked items featured in-store, unlike vintage shopping or in larger consignment shops, one doesn’t need to search too hard to find a gem. Carrying larger brands such as Tom Ford, Jimmy Choo, Margiela, and Celine, VSP doesn’t shy away from smaller, boutique lines, carrying Dries Van Noten, Adriano Goldschmied, Current Elliot, and more. The aesthetically pleasing site features a directory for an even more straightforward shopping experience.

Originating as a pop-up shop in 2009, LAB quickly grew a name for itself on the Toronto fashion scene. Off The Cuff
Off The Cuff is the only shop on the list, which exclusively caters to the male clientele. Based in the Yonge and Eglinton neighborhood on Broadway Avenue, the store’s beautifully curated collection includes Fendi, Armani, Paul Smith, Acne, Filson, and Opening Ceremony – just to name a few. In addition to its year-round deals, Off The Cuff’s self-proclaimed ‘Super Deals’ include $25 pop-up racks (unheard of in the designer realm), which have customers paying next to nothing for goods that can cost thousands. Be sure to follow the store’s expertly run Instagram account for both inspirational photos and hints at deals it’d be a shame to miss.

Opened by University of Toronto grad Vanessa Stein, Hazel Lily is named after her two grandmothers in a pursuit to make luxury a reality for the average woman. On Yonge St., just north of Lawrence Ave W, Hazel Lily caters to a different clientele outside of the hustle and bustle of the downtown core. However, if you do live downtown it’s still worth the trek a little north. Unlike most featured on the list, Hazel Lily stocks an abundance of both affordable and more elite designer tags, from Theory to Chanel, as well as select designer vintage pieces!
