Prep Your Dance Card For The Regency Masquerade Ball

Picture of Culture Trip
Updated: 23 March 2016
‘To be fond of dancing was a certain step towards falling in love’
― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

Channel your inner Mark Darcy and Lizzie Bennet at the Regency Masquerade Ball. JaneAustenDancing and the York Regency Society joined forces to form a Jane Austen re-enactment community dedicated to exploring, celebrating (and re-creating) all things Regency culture: from food to fashion, built heritage to social history, music and dance. So put on your finest Regency garb (costumes are optional), grab yourself a dancing partner, and keep it classy.

In need of a costume? Malabar offers discounts to JaneAustenDancing attendees. Alternatively, attendees are encouraged to contact event organizers for a few simple Regency-era fashion tips and ideas, using your very own wardrobe.

Tickets are $55 / $40 for seniors and students, and include dance workshop, ball, and refreshments. Pre-registration is required: head here to find the registration form and relevant contact information.
