Picture of Culture Trip
Updated: 28 April 2016
The Culinary Adventure Co., started in 2010, has become the city’s largest ‘culinary adventure company,’ offering a list of neighbourhood food tours from King West to Leslieville, cooking and food education classes, and food adventures like a canoe paddle with a five-course gourmet picnic and an eight-course seafood dinner.

Wednesdays (May – Sept): Riverside & Leslieville Tour. 11AM – 3PM. $79/pp. Discover one of Toronto’s most fascinating and hip neighbourhoods, which went from a small village in the 1850s to a bustling area filled with chic boutiques, restaurants, and cafés. Learn about its history while walking down the historic streets. Tastings include Ontario wines, seafood, artisan breads, and house-made ice cream. Also available on Saturdays year round.

Wednesdays (Year round): Little Italy Tour. 7PM – 10:30PM. $149/pp. See what Little Italy is bringing to the table with this journey through speakeasys and restaurants, sampling new and old Italian cultures that inhabit the area. This multi-course dinner will allow the chefs to be in control: no menus, no wine lists, just their guidance.

Thursdays: Downtown Toronto. 12 – 3PM. $79/pp. Toronto’s downtown core is a bustling area filled with skyscrapers, fine dining restaurants, theatres, sports arenas, and tourist attractions. Take the chance to shop, taste international foods, and learn about the history of this neighbourhood. Spoiler alert: dessert at Momofuku Milk Bar.

Fridays: Little India Tour. 6:30 – 9:30PM. $99/pp. Taste one of Toronto’s most eclectic neighbourhoods from dosas and desserts to Indian street foods like grilled corn, samosas, kebabs, butter chicken, and Tandoori-cooked naan. You’ll have the chance to see culinary demonstrations, shop for Indian spices and cookware, and learn about the history of this lively neighbourhood.

Saturdays: Danforth Tour. 11AM – 2:30PM. $79/pp. Experience the largest Greek neighbourhood in North America with ‘pide’ (Turkish pizza) and Greek ‘mezes’ to Greek wine tasting and shopping.

Tuesday to Friday: St Lawrence and Old Town Tour. 11AM – 1:30PM. $69/pp. See what this outstanding food market has to offer, from over 120 vendors, while learning about its 200-year history.

Sundays: King and Queen West Brunch Tour. 11:30AM – 3PM. $99/pp. Indulge in what Toronto’s hippest neighbourhoods have to offer in the world of brunch, with seven different stops from Rocklobster to CHEESEWERKS.
