Explore Journalism & Gay Rights With 'Body Politic'

Picture of Culture Trip
Updated: 2 May 2016
In anticipation of Pride Week in Toronto, head to Buddies in Bad Times Theatre to catch Body Politic, which tells the story of Canada’s first gay newspaper, including its ‘birth, life, and eventual demise.’ This historical drama explores the events, people, and politics that surrounded one of Canada’s strongest journalistic forces, as well as Toronto’s gay rights movement. Body Politic was developed in Buddies Residency Program, the only program in Canada solely devoted to creating original queer performance works. The play was written by Nick Green, directed by Alisa Palmer, and stars Cole Alvis, Jonathan Seinen, Georgie Johnson, and more.

Tickets are available here.
Tickets to preview performances are $20 (May 21st – May 25th); early bird tickets for regular performances are $25.

📅 May 21st – June 12th, 2016

📍 Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, 12 Alexander Street, Toronto, ON, Canada
