Cirque du Soleil's LUZIA: Toronto's Hottest New Show

Picture of Culture Trip
Updated: 30 July 2016
Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA: A Waking Dream of Mexico is Toronto’s latest buzzed about show – and for good reason. Breathing life back into Cirque du Soleil shows, LUZIA is sure to capture the imaginations of audiences. Inspired by Mexico’s art, architecture, nature and vibrant culture, the performances deliver mythology, surrealism, a nod to modernity, and more. Luzia, described as a ‘waking dream’ transports you to an imaginary Mexico where you can ‘experience a wondrous world that inspires you to explore your senses, enveloped in light and nurtured by rain.’ Featuring original music written by Canadian composer Simon Carpentier, the music – written for a live acoustic setting – is passed through the filter of the electro-pop of Nortec Collective’s Bostich + Fussible, complete with brassy Mexican and Latin American sounds.

Tickets start at $49 and can be purchased here.

📅 July 28 – October 16, 2016

📍 Under the Grand Chapiteau at The Port Lands, 51 Commissioners St, Toronto, ON, Canada
