Never retract, never explain, never apologize – get the thing done and let them howl.

– Nellie McClung

Celebrate International Women’s Day throughout the month of March with Toronto the Just: Stories of Women and the Struggle for Equality. Hosted and organized by Myseum of Toronto, Women in Toronto Politics, and Heritage Toronto, this city wide exhibition features the powerful stories of eight Toronto women that challenged inequality based on gender, sexuality, race, class, and ability. Uncover the stories and histories of the women who transformed the city, including a restauranteur, a journalist, a publisher, an Indigenous leader, and a physicist. Explore the trailblazing women who educated, protested – and just generally shook things up – throughout Toronto’s history.

You can explore the digital version of the exhibition, but Toronto the Just is best experienced in person; the exhibition will travel throughout the GTA during March and April, so be sure to check when it’s nearest you.
