Ring in both Earth Day and Spring at The Gladstone Hotel with the 4th annual Grow Op exhibition. This year’s theme, Cultivating Curiosity, explores Urbanism, Landscape, and Contemporary Art. Curators Christine Leu, Graham Teeple, and Alan Web have assembled over 30 works that promise to cultivate curiosity, exploring how ‘humans and other species live within, without, and despite natural systems of growth and abundance, scarcity and decay.’ Grow Op 2016 has expanded this year to include a collection of ‘ecological curios’ from explorers, artists, farmers, landscape architects, historians, and healers. Check out the evening programming, as well as on- and off-site participatory activities, as you celebrate Earth Day through the lens of contemporary art. The Gladstone has positioned itself as the cultural hub of Toronto, and Grow Op 2016 will be no exception.
