Kick off the Halloween celebrations early with Halifax’s annual Zombie Walk, taking place on October 1st. Participants in this free public event will shuffle through the streets in their zombie getup, and prizes are given out for categories such as best costume, best family, and best shuffle and groan.
Strut your stuff in Hal-Con’s Halloween Parade. In addition to an hour walk through the city’s downtown, prizes are awarded for costumes in categories such as Most Colourful, Best Spirit, and Best Overall. The event will run from 10:00 am–12:30 pm on October 28th. This event is a great one for both participants and spectators.
Dinner at Five Fishermen
Five Fishermen sits inside one of the oldest buildings in the city, and there have been multiple reports of ghost sightings and paranormal activity at this downtown seafood restaurant. It’s not surprising either, as the building used to house a morgue, which took in bodies from both the Halifax Explosion and the Titanic!
