Kristen Stewart's Harrowing Journey

Kristen Stewart’s terrifying Eurostar trip in Olivier Assayas’ Personal Shopper is a brilliant vehicle for social commentary, as our video explains.

In one of the most disturbing sequences Assayas has ever filmed, a fashion icon’s put-upon personal shopper, played by Kristen Stewart, plummets into paranoia as she travels from Paris to London and back on the same day. She thinks the texts she’s receiving on her phone are being sent by her dead brother.

The cat-and-mouse game she succumbs to provides more than eerie thrills, however. To see what Assayas is up to, check out our video.

The Criterion Collection releases Personal Shopper on Blu-ray Special Edition on October 24.
