The Emirate of Fujairah is best known for its beautiful beaches. Located on the East Coast of the UAE, this is the only one out of seven Emirates with beaches facing this side of the globe. One of the most popular areas in the Emirate is Al Aqah, populated by five-star resorts and offering visitors a perfect day trip from the city.

Those heading to Fujairah should definitely choose to spend their day in Al Aqah. Whether travellers are on a day trip from Dubai or staying in Fujairah itself, this is the ideal place to kick back and relax for the day. Al Aqah is approximately a two-hour drive away from Dubai, making it easily accessible to those staying there and looking to get away from the city’s crowded beaches for the day.

The best way to enjoy Al Aqah is through one of its many beach resorts. Visitors can start their day by either checking in to one of these or purchasing a day pass, should they not wish to stay overnight. Some of the most popular resorts in the area are Iberotel Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort and Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort. Just down the road from one another, both hotels offer a luxury space where visitors can tan, relax and enjoy the beach in Fujairah. Additionally, both have breathtaking views of sea and mountains, which make this Emirate stand out among the others.

For those on a tighter budget, a fantastic option is the Al Aqah Beach Camping, where anyone can pitch a tent and spend the day at the beach and the night under the stars.

For those seeking a thrill, Al Aqah is popular for water sports, ranging from stand up paddle boarding to snorkelling. People can get wet in the area’s clear waters and take the opportunity to interact with the regional marine life, including anything from jellyfish to turtles.

During the evening, there’s no shortage of restaurants in the area. All of the resorts in Al Aqah house stellar places for visitors to grab a bite or a drink. This ensures that everyone is well fed after a day of water activities. Travellers can end their day by driving back to Dubai or choosing to stay overnight and enjoying the quiet Fujairah night sky, whether from a five-star resort hotel room or from an improvised tent.
