La Perle: The Hype Behind Dubai's Immersive Aqua-Theatre

This immersive aqua-theatre, located at the heart of Al Habtoor City, is about to take Dubai by storm, providing a one of a kind performing arts experience.

Dubai is always looking for new ways to awe residents and visitors, and La Perle is the latest attraction that’s been added to the long list of must-visits in the United Arab Emirates. This brand new and innovative theatre is set to launch on August 31st, and is one of many theatrical experiences to hit the city in the past few years. With the success of the Dubai Opera House, which has held shows such as Les Miserables, Cats and La Bohème; the theatre scene has been fast growing in this emirate, and La Perle is here to further strengthen the city’s reputation as a destination for all theatre lovers.

The structure of the theatre is something to behold. It has a capacity of 1,300, uses 2.7 million liters of water and plans to showcase 450 live performances a year – being the first ever resident live performance show in the entire country. The unique concept was conceived by non less than Franco Dragone, the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil director. La Perle will bring together 65 entertainers from different nationalities to astonish the crowd with a variety of aerial and aquatic stunts. One of the features that makes La Perle so unique is that whereas most shows have to undergo adaptations to fit the various stages they’re hosted on, this theatre’s stage was tailor-made with the show itself in mind.

The seating in La Perle wraps around its theatre, creating an immersive and intimate experience of its spectators. One of the main selling points for this theatre is the combination of technology, as well as creative imagery, in order to create a breathtaking visual display that is certain to leave audiences wonder-struck. La Perle was inspired by Dubai’s multifaceted spirit, bringing together several different cultures and traditions. The show truly uses the city as its muse, harnessing the past, present and future as inspiration to reflect this emirate’s essence.

Tickets can already be purchased, with prices starting at 400 AED. For those looking to truly embrace the performance, they can purchase the limited VIP tickets for 1,600 AED, which offer a panoramic view of the stage as well as lounge seating and an individual table, making the entire experience all the more unique and luxurious.
