Abu Dhabi is the United Arab Emirates capital and occupies most of the country’s territory. This Emirate, although not as vastly known as its neighbor Dubai, has no shortage of attractions and fun things for visitors to do. With Etihad Airways being based in Abu Dhabi and serving as transfer hub for people flying all over the world, it’s a good idea for those passing by the capital to enjoy at least a day there – and here’s how to do it.

Morning at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Perhaps the most popular attraction Abu Dhabi has to offer is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. This is one of the eight largest mosques in the world and undoubtedly the most beautiful one in the UAE. The mosque opens doors from 9am and it’s the perfect place for visitors to feast their eyes in the stunning marble building. Visitors must take note to dress respectfully, but the mosque also offers abayas and kanduras for people to appropriately cover up.

Lunch and Afternoon Ferrari World

After indulging themselves with the mystifying beauty of Abu Dhabi’s most popular mosque – it’s time for some fun! Ferrari World is the perfect place to do so. The indoor theme park offers several rides, including the unique experience to ride the fastest rollercoaster in the world, Formula Rosa, which accelerates to up to 240km/h, guaranteeing a thrilling and unforgettable way of enjoying Abu Dhabi. The Ferrari themed park also has several food outlets, so this is the ideal time to grab a quick lunch – but not before riding Formula Rosa!

Quick Visit to Yas Viceroy

As Ferrari World is located in the Yas Island, one of the many that compose the archipelago of Abu Dhabi, after visiting the park it is the perfect time to see another one of the island’s main attractions: the Yas Viceroy hotel. This hotel has a singular characteristic to it which is a must see – the hotel is located right next to Yas Marina Circuit, where the famous Formula 1 races take place in Abu Dhabi. When visiting the hotel, guests can take a peak at the racing circuit and with luck, even see cars racing.

Afternoon Coffee at Emirates Palace

A visit to Abu Dhabi is not complete without sipping some coffee at Le Cafe, in the Emirates Palace. The hotel is well-known for being one of the most luxurious in the country and every corner of it will leave visitors in awe. The golden decorations and elegant decor are only a plus compared to the main attraction – Le Cafe offers a golden cappuccino, with actual flakes of gold on top of it. This is a must-try to spend the afternoon in style and have another unique and unforgettable experience while in Abu Dhabi.
