The weather outside is getting (even) hotter and Tel Aviv is gearing up for the highlights in May to match! Tel Aviv’s Municipality will be throwing some major events which usually signifies the arrival of full-blown summer in the city, from the Tel Aviv Pride Week celebrating the LGBT community to the annual Independence Day festivities and the official opening of Beach Season! Whether it’s theatre, dance, music or design you’re after, we’ve selected some of our favorite events, shows and exhibitions for all interests, and we assure you, there won’t be one dull moment this May!

CONCERT| Elvis Revival Concert
Sunday 1st May

Sunday nights spent singing along and rocking out to Elvis music? What could be better! This spectacular musical depicts 25 years of Elvis on one stage.  

THEATRE | Little Black Dress Show At Habima
Sunday 1st May

Ideal for English-speakers, this show focuses on all things women. It has the best of fashion fused with comedy, while also celebrating top ladies in music like Aretha, Whitney and Beyoncé.

MUSIC | BassJackers Perform in Tel Aviv
Thursday 5th May

The Dutch Duo DJ’s ‘BassJackers’ will be spinning in Tel Aviv at the much anticipated seven hour rave.

FILM | The Days of Ukrainian Cinema
Thursday 5th-19th May

If you love Ukrainian film or are simply open to discovering a new cinema, the Tel Aviv Cinematheque will be hosting a festival of the best Ukranian films.

CULTURE | Hungarian Festival at the Tachana
Friday 6-7th May

For all things Hungarian, the Ambassador to Israel and the Tel Aviv Municipality is throwing the Hungarian Festival, a cultural explosion of food, music, games and more.

DESIGN | Made in Israel Fair
Friday 6th May

With everything from jewellery, wallets and bags to home products and fresh local produce, this fair will showcase the best of all things made ‘Blue and White’.

CULTURE | Celebrating Victory Day
Sunday 8th May

The Russians and their heritage make up a large portion of the population and on this day, the Tel Aviv celebrates Victory Day with them at a unique cultural event.


LEISURE | Official Opening of  Tel Aviv’s Beach Season
Monday 9th May- 20th October

There’s nothing that quite characterizes Tel Aviv as much as its energetic sandy beaches that line the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea. On May 9th, Tel Aviv’s beach will be officially opened, with lifeguards returning to their posts and a slew of summer activities taking place.

CULTURE | Independence Day Celebrations at Rabin Square
Wednesday 11th May

The annual festivities marking the eve of Independence Day include live music, food stands, Israeli artists and a grand finale of fireworks, seen from the square.

DANCE | Itzik Galili: Man of the Hour

Dance lover’s rejoice as Itzik Galili returns to the coveted Suzanne Dellal Center Stage for two spectacular nights of dance and opera fusion.

Tuesday 17th-29th May

For theatre and music fans, the timeless story of revenge, death, guilt and honor wrapped in the distinct vocals of the Israeli Opera is highly anticipated in Tel Aviv.

FILM | Docaviv: International Documentary Film Festival
Thursday 19th- 28th May

Docaviv returns to Tel Aviv. The largest of its kind, this International Film Festival boasts a selection of over 100 of the best documentaries showing at the Cinematheque, as well as free screening all over the city.

As Tel Aviv gears up for the famous annual Pride Parade, the Pride Festival will combine a range of events with the LGBT community.
