How It All Began
CreativeMornings was formed in 2008 by blogger Tina Roth Eisenberg out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning a month. Every event would be free of charge and open to anyone.
Today, CreativeMornings is a global phenomenon. From its humble beginnings in New York, CreativeMornings has grown significantly and now has active communities in 115 cities across 47 countries including Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Sydney, Capetown and Berlin and starting this month, Tel Aviv.
The idea to bring CreativeMornings to Tel Aviv was born a few years ago, when Natalie Shell and Einat Biran realized that even though meet-ups were happening all over the city, there was no regular event connecting and bringing together the city’s various creatives in one place. Work and life commitments got in the way but when they realized late last year that CreativeMornings was still not here, they decided it was time. The two women invited Leehee Goldenberg to join them and team CreativeMorningsTel Aviv was formed. After passing the formal application process to start the Tel Aviv chapter, they set off to create a space where like-minded individuals could connect and create.
Now That It’s Here
“CreativeMornings Tel Aviv is a place to connect, network and be inspired. And what better than listening to an inspiring speaker over coffee and cake?” says Natalie, host of CreativeMornings Tel Aviv. Einat, one of the chapter’s co-organizer, agrees. “We love this vibrant, crazy little city and want to share the best of what it has to offer – beyond the news what makes the headlines – with the world.”
Leehee, the other co-organizer adds that “CreativeMornings platform also felt like the right way for the three of us to be able to share positive news and voices from the Middle East with the local and global creative community.”
How It Works
Each month, every chapter organizes a breakfast and speaker event surrounding a global theme – from robots to revolution – which is later uploaded to the CreativeMornings speaker database. These themes, and the speaker selected connect and inspire the event’s participants and include design legends, hometown heroes and everyday folks doing extraordinary things.
“Worldwide, events are held on Friday mornings, but here in Tel Aviv with our unique work week, the events will take place on Thursday mornings,” the team explains.
With a long list of fascinating and passionate speakers lined up, the team hopes their audience will really have a chance to connect during the mornings’ mingling sessions, and look forward to hearing about the amazing connections and creations that are sure to grow out of CreativeMornings Tel Aviv.
