Waxy Bramble

Full of colour and retro goodies, this bargain vintage clothes shop sources its wares from Wales, Amsterdam, Spain and Bosnia. It’s run by mother-daughter duo Pat and Jen.

1. Hobos

Shop

This cool, well-stocked vintage clothing shop with both men and women’s apparel has been going since 1992. As well as vintage clothes, they also do nostalgic gifts, memorabilia, accessories and cards and have their own vintage-inspired label called POP Boutique.

Bootsy Loote

Owner Natalie combined her passion for all things vintage with her training in fine art and creative textile design to open this store. It specialises in lifestyle, interiors and crafts and stocks vintage, art and upcycled treasures as well as all sorts of handmade gifts, including those she produces herself.

Natalie says: “I absolutely adore fabric, vintage style and furniture. I think this stems from the make-do and mend attitude I have inherited from my family, along with skills I have developed and acquired through my training over the last ten years.”

This Sketty-based gem is both a charity and a real community initiative with its aim to support creativity and the arts. The shop sells art, crafts, vintage clothes and second hand goods.

This flourishing independent florist does amazing bouquets and provides flowers and floral tributes for a range of occasions.

A trip to Mumbles would not be complete without going to this heavenly independent boutique bookshop. Listed as one of Wales’ top 50 best independent shops, there is not only a huge range of books to be found here, but a real dedication to helping you find the right one, whatever your interests or mood at the time. The shop also hosts events and sells gifts such as mugs and notebooks.

Ji Ji Kiki Boutique

This is an online store run from Swansea. If you need a gift for someone, have a magpie-like love for sparkly objects or just enjoy unique, vintage-inspired and handmade items, then this website is for you. In the owner’s own words the store offers: “the best in quirky, cute jewellery, vintage style dresses, handmade vintage jewellery and accessories by the best independent designers.”
