So much more than your quintessential farm shop, Balgove Larder is a St Andrews culinary institution and a purveyor of honest and locally reared food. The Night Market is a celebration of Balgove’s legacy and promise to provide the best Scottish produce imaginable. Filled with live music, local vendors and street food-style eats straight from the wood fired BBQ, this evening event takes place on site at the Steak Barn, an unashamedly hip rustic-chic space with a covered veranda suited to swooning over the ridiculously enticing gastronomic delights. You can’t get cooler than Balgove.

A wondrous showcase of Scotland’s greatest produce, makers and suppliers, St Andrews Farmers’ Market is one of those events you don’t want to miss. Held in the Argyle St car park, market-goers can anticipate a compelling selection of approximately 30 stallholders every time. Between the local chefs cooking up a storm, artisanal bites and sporadic pop-up restaurants, the aromas are out of this world. Highlights include stalls from St Andrews Brewing Company, Dundee Cheesecakes, Langoustine The Box, Arran’s Cheese Shop and Bellfield Organics.

3. Judy’s St Andrews Affordable Vintage Fair

Scanning the treasures at Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair is a rite of passage for retro queens and fashion enthusiasts alike. This famous shindig tours the UK with a trusty troupe of vendors, each as eager as the next to showcase their coveted vintage wares. People can pick from an insane number of vintage fashion pieces (spanning all the memorable eras), retro furniture and perennially popular kitschy home goods. Although this vintage extravaganza is coming to St Andrews on September 24 2017, make sure to keep checking the website for additional appearances. Stock up by the kilo and away you go!

St Andrews Antique and Collectors Fair is never-ending fun for those with a discerning eye. Whether new to the scene or seasoned stamp collector, the Town Hall transforms into a land of possibilities every time the fair descends upon St Andrews. With over 20 stalls and the vast array of finds — think vinyl, vintage clothes, china, furniture, jewellery and postcards — the whole scenario was made for an epic rummaging session.
