Everyone loves a good market trip, especially in Scotland. St Andrews happens to be just the place, with its markets mirroring the diverse range of independent businesses and local shops. Whether looking to stock up on eclectic ingredients for a culinary concoction or a simple browse, here are the best ones to watch out for.

The night market

So much more than your quintessential farm shop, Balgove Larder is a St Andrews culinary institution and a purveyor of honest and locally reared food. The Night Market is a celebration of Balgove’s legacy and promise to provide the best Scottish produce imaginable. Filled with live music, local vendors and street food-style eats straight from the wood fired BBQ, this evening event takes place on site at the Steak Barn, an unashamedly hip rustic-chic space with a covered veranda suited to swooning over the ridiculously enticing gastronomic delights. You can’t get cooler than Balgove.
