Remember that priceless movie moment when a victorious smile descends upon Clark Griswold’s face in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation? ‘I did it’. Well, Edinburgh also ‘did it’. Decked out to the nines, Edinburgh, as cliché as it sounds, is resembling a true Winter Wonderland. The Dome is as lovely as ever, the Christmas market is a foodie paradise, nutcrackers and ornaments grace every corner and the Street Of Light could not be more magical. If this doesn’t fill you with the holly jollies, then quite frankly, nothing will.

The giant wheel, lights galore, a Christmas tree maze…Elf would feel right at home. Here’s a-hoping he doesn’t cause a scene at Edinburgh’s Santa Land by screaming at the guy for sitting on a ‘throne of lies’.

Even The Scott Monument, the largest monument dedicated to a writer in the world, is looking festive. The question remains — which is more vertigo-inducing?

Over 60,000 bulbs and 24 towering arches went into the masterpiece that is the Street Of Light. Enchanting and otherworldly, never has the west end of George Street looked so striking.

Edinburgh natives know that The Dome is the Christmas Kingpin in this city.

Best photobomb ever. As tempting as an old school Helter Skelter may be, Scott Monument always steals the show.

Festive and delicious, foodies are in for a treat.

And here we have a delightfully traditional wreath…with a Scottish sense of humour!

Edinburgh looking all the more merrier after a wee visit from Jack Frost.

Arty and Christmassy, the cobbled streets and historic buildings are a snapshot straight from a fairytale.

And The Dome does it again with its pillars dancing to the sky.

The festive hustle and bustle never looked so appealing…

Just a determined tree in a Winter Wonderland.
