If you’ve been distressed about how your KitKat doesn’t match your Instagram aesthetic, worry no longer.

Starting April 16 2018, you’ll be able to get a pink bar made from ruby chocolate, which has naturally occurring compounds that turn it pink.

Available from Monday in UK Tesco stores, the bars have a unique, berry-flavoured taste that is like no KitKat you’ve tried before.

The colour occurs after the beans have gone through a unique processing, which unlocks the flavours and colour of the specially selected cocoa beans.

The chocolate bar has already been launched in Japan and Korea and was a huge hit.

Alex Gonnella, Marketing Director for Nestlé’s UK confectionery business, said: ‘After the extremely successful launch of KitKat Chocolatory Sublime Ruby in Japan and South Korea, this is the first time the Ruby chocolate will be available in an iconic four finger format and we are sure that the Ruby chocolate KitKat will be a great hit in the UK.

‘Ruby chocolate is a big innovation in confectionery and we are very proud that KitKat is the first major brand in the UK to feature this exciting new chocolate.’

The pink chocolate was created by Swiss chocolatier Barry Callebaut. The company spent more than a decade developing it, inventing a completely new kind of chocolate that offers an alternative from the traditional dark, milk and white varieties.

Nestlé is known for its innovative KitKat flavours, especially in Japan, with flavours including sake, green tea and red bean.
