How better to celebrate the long Easter weekend than to have a night out in London and sample some impressive Easter-themed cocktails? Here’s a list of where to find the best in the city – you’d be hopping mad to miss them!
The one thing better than an Easter egg? An Easter Egg cocktail, of course. Served in a chocolate-coated glass, what a good place to start, the mix of Mozart chocolate vodka, Drambuie and Cointreau is delicately combined with salted caramel, egg, and orange bitters to create a creamy serve with a hint of citrus. Garnished with tonka bean crumble and orange flakes, this is a cocktail ready for your Instagram!
Easter is one of the best times of the year for indulgence, but temptation can come in many different packages. This year, forget the average chocolate Easter egg. After 40 days of restraint during Lent, it’s only right to make merry with an Easter tipple. ‘The Eggsquisite’ cocktail at the Hyde Lobby Bar is a sweet and beautiful concoction of smooth Advocaat, single cream, and vodka, finished off with a dusting of Divine chocolate powder.
The Chocolate Fling is a stunning glass of sweetness that will keep you feeling sunny-side-up all day long. A smooth, velvet-like blend of Ketel One vodka, Belsazar White, pear purée, white chocolate syrup and egg white, topped with a tasty Maltesers crumb and a lightly toasted marshmallow, this cocktail will have you hatching plans to sip them all weekend!
The Bloomsbury Hotel has had two recipes created by mixologist Giovanni Spezziga in partnership with chef Gizzi Erskine for her Tanqueray No.TEN Table supper club series at Dalloway Terrace. There is The Gizzi made with an array of bitter fruits, and The No.Ten Fizz made with lashings of sparkling wine.
Manetta’s offers a luxurious and indulgent cocktail that’s a chocolate-infused creation. It arrives perfectly balanced and beautifully presented, so another one for your Instagram! The cocktail is a decadent mix of whiskey, Madeira chocolate, cardamom and cassis syrup, topped with a light Montenegro and blood orange foam. A delicious tipple that is sure to lead to at least a couple more.
One a penny, two a penny… this Easter, the Aqua Shard team have created a special cocktail inspired by everyone’s Easter favourite, the hot cross bun. With the same sweet and savoury flavours of a hot cross bun, the stunning cocktail is made with Hennessey Cognac, Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto and Mozart Dark chocolate liqueur. The cocktail is then shaken with star anise, coriander seeds, cinnamon and cloves, and topped with a caramel sugar nest and chocolate eggs.
Many of the Slug & Lettuce bars around London have a cracking Easter weekend planned this year. There’s delicious food on their menu to enjoy alongside their limited edition Sailor Jerry Mini Egg Mojito. Sounds eggcellent to us, but that’s not all… they’ll also be hiding eggs with prizes around their venues too!
Hop to a Revolution Bar near you to celebrate the egg-citing return of their limited edition vodka. The Chocolate Egg is a creamy, sweet treat that promises to add a little more temptation for this year’s chocolate-filled celebrations. This is the 31st offering from Revolution’s iconic Handcrafted Flavours shot range, and with it being an ultra-sweet and gooey Chocolate Egg flavour, it’s the perfect cheeky tipple for less than £5!
