Listen & Play
Get your dancing shoes ready, as Lovebox is returning to Victoria Park for its 10th year bringing incredible headliners, Rudimental and Snoop Dogg. The festival will see DJs Annie Mac, Flume and Mark Ronson hit the decks, as well as Jessie Ware, Hot Chip and Little Dragon gracing the stage. You’ll also be spoilt for choice with over 30 food stalls. If somehow you’re still not sold, we have two words for you: roller disco.
After Lovebox, Victoria Park will be taken over by a much more Sunday friendly affair – Citadel. Citadel is a new one-day festival from Wilderness Festival and Superfly aimed at celebrating the British Sunday afternoon, epitomised by the sounds of homegrown headliners Ben Howard and Bombay Bicycle Club. Alongside the expected festival frivolities and foody goodness, Citadel will also be hosting a series of Sunday feasts from Richard Turner (of Hawksmoor).
This Friday also sees the return of the annual BBC Proms, setting us up for a summer of Classical music. Although all ticketed concerts for this weekend are now sold out, BBC Proms Extras are all free entry. From family events and singalongs, to lectures by prestigious professionals – there’s something for everyone. If you’re not lucky enough to be going, BBC are offering full coverage across their radio and TV stations.

Graduate & Postgraduate Degree Shows
For something a little different why not venture to a degree show? This weekend, London will be host to: Camberwell Illustration Show – Rock, Paper, Scissors; Goldsmith Postgraduate Arts Degree Show and Camberwell Postgraduate Summer Show. All shows are free public entry and will be showcasing the very freshest talent and are definitely worth checking out.
Soundscapes at The National Gallery
“Hear the painting. See the sound.” This summarises the premise of this exhibition perfectly. The National Gallery have commissioned musicians and sound artists to select a painting from the collection and to create a new piece of music or sound art in response to it. From DJ/Producer Jamie XX to Classical composer Nico Muhly, the exhibition is immersive and quite literally sensational.
Cocktails in The City
This weekend 25 London bars come together under one (metaphorical) roof in Bedford Square Gardens, for a weekend of mixology and revelry. Gawp at on-stage demonstrations by some of the world’s leading bartenders, indulge in some delicious street food, and have a jolly good knees up to some fantastic music. With a very reasonably priced ticket, you receive a cocktail, as well as a cocktail booklet – what more could you ask for?
Real Food Festival at Walthamstow Garden Party
Back for its second year, the Walthamstow Garden Party is set to be a wonderful weekend of dancing, music, art and spoken word. Even more exciting is that the Real Food Festival will be providing their renowned homegrown food stalls offering up delectable treats throughout the day. Oh, and did we mention this is a FREE event? Need we say more?
