London’s Victoria is famous for a few things, including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Cathedral, The Royal Mews and, of course, Victoria’s grand train station itself. A small district, its bars are often overlooked for its tourist attractions and musicals, but what better way is there to finish off a busy day full of culture than with a delicately crafted cocktail, a tumbler of whiskey or a tall glass of bubbling champagne at one of Victoria’s best bars, try one of these places for a perfect end to the evening.

Réunion Bar at The Grosvenor Hotel

New to Victoria’s grand Grosvenor Hotel is the sumptuously glamorous Réunion Bar. Indulge in a huge range of cocktails with a big group or simply stop for a glass of champagne whilst waiting for a train, but be warned – the comfortable and elegant setting will mean you may never want to leave. With a dark mahogany bar that sits on sleek black and white marble tiles backing onto a cosy area that has brilliantly tall velvet wingback chairs and round velvet pouf seating, you’ll most certainly find a place to relax and unwind. The champagne glasses hanging above the bar give the impression of hundreds of bright bulb lights, and there is even a grand, yellow-curtained private section that will make anyone feel like royalty. So if you’re in need of some luxury, sit at the window of Réunion with a Jamaican Julep or a Peachy-Chica-Rita and watch the busy world of Victoria Station go by.

Eaton Square Bar

Find your perusal of the drinks menu at Eaton Square Bar punctuated with cheeky quotes from historical and literary greats – all relating to booze, of course. As you search the rum section, you are told to ‘drink because you are happy, but never because you are miserable.’ This runs alongside G.K. Chesterton and Bette Davis’ wise words that ‘there comes a time in every woman’s life when the only thing that helps is a glass of champagne.’ The cocktails are not only boasting in quality but also quantity, and any questions you may have will be answered happily by the drinks masters that stand behind the sleek purple bar. Visit on Thursdays or Fridays for live music, and the Volt espresso martini is a must try if you’re in need of a buzz after work. The cocktails are beautifully presented and are sure to warrant a few carefully taken pictures, and you can even rent the space for a big blowout or a sophisticated get together with friends.
